hi vitamin k, This is very important topic to be discussed to plan the future Is only these two places are options for doing fellowship,no other centres give you the oppurtunity.woking in shankar nethralaya or agarwals eye clinic in chennai will it provide a confidence any idea

There are many other places to do a fellowship in ophthal. We need to search them out. We can pour in the infos we have about such centers.
About Calcutta I can say that no center provides fellowsips as of now,but Disha Hospital will be starting fellowship programes shortly,may be next year.

Lets contribute to the list of such hospitals .

Fellowships are definitely useful but is not the END.....I personally know RETINA fellows from Aravind ...who felt the need to work 3 to 4 years in that field to get the correct experience!!where u set up is also important

It will provided you have good patient load and a good teacher(senior)
It should be well eqipped as Ophthalmic Technology is fast changing..OCT,UBM,LASIK,Collagen Cross linking......

As far as i know,there is no such hospital around whose senior residentship is as worth as a fellowship from a good hospital with just an exception of RP Centre AIIMS .
