Yeah you have to apply visa by going to vsf web site any time. It is better to go line rather than going directly to vsf office (located in many metro cities) becasue you will get to know more information about visa process and take an appointment for visa interview date. It is wise to schedule interview 4-6 months in advance, otherwise it becomes very difficult at last minutes sitting long hours online, and waiting someone to cancel and mean time grab, if you are lucky enough, that particular date.

if U don have much time go for ER visa appointment request, but the reason should be genuine ( all required document of CS) or else the consulate will not take the interview.

FIrst determine when are you giving you steps, fill the USMLE application & then go to vsf and appoint a visa date.

iam aiming for match2008...n i have planned on taking step1 in feb step2ck in jun and cs in july....well 2 doubts on this:-
1) one of my friends suggested that i take cs in aug/sept that is more than enough and cs requires 2 months preparation...from your view point what do you think?
2)and like shud i apply for cs(july)now itself? n if i do when should i approach for the visa..i mena should i do that tooo early or can be done only near july period?
and btw thanks a lot for all your prompt replies in other threads as well....much appreciated...thanx icon_razz.gif

I really feel 1 month is enuf for CS. U have to decide if u want to go to Visa interview with or without ur CK scores cos at times VO sends u back with a yellow slip, asking u to come back with CK scores. But thats not a rejection n doesn't affect ur visa chances but can affect ur CS scheduling. U might not get a date for a month later after VO sends u back.

If u take CK in June n wanna take CS in July u have no option but to go for visa appointment without CK scores. In that case u can schedule it anytime after CK exam. but if u'r given yellow slip, u might have to reschedule ur CS. Many people have done that n gotten visa but thats dicey.

U can take visa appointment now itself, no problems with that. U can change it to any available date anytime u wish, for a 1 year period.
