i think its matter of ur choice.
ped is very good branch and u can earn a lot.
but medicine is also good only thing is money
and u will have to do superspecialisation to earn a lot.
i toow as confused but opted for med.

even i was confused abt the same thing
i am and still am a die hard hard fan of general medicine

most my professors whom i asked didnt advice to take general medicine saying its nothing but a glorified GP..they told always go for a speciality if available rather than a general subject which you have to do furthur studies.. if you think you got it in you study more than a MD please go ahead

In the end i chose MD Paediatrics because its an end subject.. its not that you cant manage adults..most of complaints that adults go to MD medicine most paediatrician can handle.. maybe few things you have to go to a MD GM .. I dont think i got in me to study more than MD.. Cant say as yet but the experience preparing for pg told me that.. simple logic the more the number of seats for a subject lesser the renumeration with the base degree..for eg md medicine or ms surgery

even Paediatrics got DM but its not yet compulsory to do it.. but its not the case in GM..Paediatrics is very satisfying because seeing a baby smile or children happy will make anyone happy.. parents love their children more than themselves and any small problem you will get patients (ps : not being sadistic or money minded) ..

eventually MD med or paed it is your choice.. do what makes you happy

I think MD pedia is much better as a person spent its max money over his child followed by his wife than himself
