sorry and thanks,if it was left upon you to make a choice between md Pathology
and dmrd,what would you have done considering the financial aspect and also presuming you have a liking for radiology.please reply.once again sorry.

I wud advise against DMRD considering you were never go beyond a senior registrar level and wud get reduced to a USG consultant in some small set up. While MD in any branch wud keep ur ways open for super specialization , the time ahead is those of DM
, trauma centers etc all are looking for DM
radio either neuro ,onco .I wudnt advise you to go for Diploma,I mysef like radiology a lot and i assure you if u like diagnostics ,Pathology
wud stand at par when it comes to challenges and satisfaction.Rest is upto your own choice and your own preference.

Apologies, some errors here:-
i meant.... you will never be able to go beyond a senior reg level in hopsital practice and in pvt practice never beyind a subservient USG consultant.Financially DMRD wud pay u as much as MD path gives and with outstanding efforts wud fetch you far better.

MD Pathology
wud give you better remuneration with outstanding efforts in comparison to same level of efforts with DMRD ; and Pathology
wud require less investments.

NEUROLOGY,DM
ONCOLOGY,Dermatology
after md Pathology
.what are institutions where these courses are undertaken.mam please be little more descriptive about chances of going abroad.

It is again subjective too , there may be Micro-fans , but i for myself wud prefer in above circumstances the Pathology
over the micro even in aforementioned colleges with BHU
=KGMC then sms jaipur being the sequence ,
Micro can be practiced by a pathologist too , all pathologists do cultures and isolations etc etc required for pvt practice. You will be getting a micro rotation while doing Pathology
and that is sufficient enuff for you to understand the reqd work and more so u will have a micro table in viva in MD path final examination as well , so u will actually learn and do enuff needed for pvt lab /practice.
but Micro guys cant take an edge over you in Haemat , Cyto and Histo. They get rotation too but Pathologys is too vast to be covered in that part of rotation.
A MD Path can easily do micro reqd for pvt practice ,( no offence intended to microbiologists ); in case if u get stuck , u can get help readily form technicians ; yes MD Path cant do micro-research work , prefer micro only if u have reaserch work in micro as a special interest.
ELISA and flow cytometery are damn easy , u need only few days during or post MD , u can learn that in Pathology
rotation in transfusion medicine.Even Western Blot is not a big deal now days since Companies have designed new kits for Pathologists to do it in very easy steps.and MRs help u do that .Spending 3 years in micro for all this which u can learn & practice otherwise too being a Pathologist ,and by joining Path u r getting into some option which can help u learn a lot extra in terms of much more interesting cyto , histo , haemat , (in addition to micro stuff )so Pathology
is certainly preferable.
Poeple get good salaries in Path and Micro both in pvt dental and medical colleges as such.

Yes , in my opinion MD path has better scope , u get a track clear to go for DM
further which isnt possible after Diploma. DM
is avaiable at AIIMS
, PGI , CMC Vellore
,NIMHANS
. Haemat ,Transfusion Medicine are there in CMC , AIIMS
. NIMHANS
gives DM
in Neuropathology. check MCI website and respective websites of university/college, u will get a clear picture. And more so SGPC , Tata websites too which offer post MD certificate courses in Onco and Cyto.That wud elaborate better.And try talking to some residents there for latest info if possible becuz dynamics keep on changing.
