ya ferritin will increase but the earliest response that we can see is increasd reticulocyte count

You are right but in refernce to the question your response does not mean anything.
Out of the choices the answer is Reticulocyte counts.

DONT BE CONFUSED ,

SERUM FERRITIN TAKES LONG TIME TO BE NORMAL. AS IT INDICATES THE IRON STORES IN THE BODY . TO INCREASE IRON STORES TO
NORMAL,IRON THERAPY SHOULD BE CONTINUED TO 6-8WKS.

IT IS THE RAISED RETICULOCYTE COUNT................CORRECT ANSWER.
IT INCREASES IN 6-8 DAYS AFTER IRON THERAPY.

retic count is not increased in iron deficiency anemia.. only when u treat it with iron it is increased, starts to increase in 1-2 days ... and reaches a peak in 5-7 days..next hemoglobin starts increasing and then only ferritin as it is the storage form
