hello Seerat83
There are two papers to be dne one para clinical n second clinical they say its imp
to pass in both with 50% to qualify for the exam...time allocated is 2 hrs with 150 questions in
each paper ie total 4 hrs with 300 questions so u will never run short of time.

Since u are still dng ur MBBS make sure u do ur clinical subjects well now go on with the pattern
of sloving mcqs and also read thru the subjects nicely so u can later read more of para clinical subjects
Dnt think of leaving subjects like anat n biochem for last min i suggest u do them once n always have time to
do as many revisions as u can of biochem anat and pharma coz they r all very volatile subjects
Droping ny clinical subject might cost u heavy coz last yr there were 30 q frm opthal
so u never know MCI always has one pet subject each yr so do all the clinicals for sure.
Set sometime everyday from now on only n start preparing sit with a MCQ buk start with one subject and
also sit with the concerned theory buk for example if u wanna do surgery sit with bailey n love too
and when u slove one mcq read in detail abt the topic frm bailey ths way u will finish the course fast
and would be able to cover up max imp topics.
They key in the end for all competitive exam is revision n followed by revision...
all the best

Hello Suhasani,

Thanks a lot for ur precious suggestions. I’ll make sure I keep all these things in mind. Why I decided to drop some subjects was because of inadequacy of time. I don’t wanna go thru some subjects just superficially. I would rather prefer to devote that time to brush up with the subjects that I would have done already by then. However, I understand that the risks are high!!! I would definitely try to incorporate as many subjects as possible.

One more thing .. What I knew was para-clinical subjects weigh 100 marks and clinical 200 marks. Are u sure they weigh 150 each!!??

i sat for the march 2007 and passed the exam.and i do agree with velocity80 that last times paper wasn't the kind that 's meant for screening test.besides, this time almost every1 thought that the paper was easy, and they would pass.but very few passed.i personally think, that somehow they pass only the first few top rankers and not alll the 1s who get 50%.

hi.....the debate is whether the papers are tough or the FMGEs are not upto the mark.....i think its a bit of both.....the pattern of teaching is definitely different at sum places abroad....at others the pattern maybe the same but the orientation is not there.....the first few FMGE papers were very easy (as from wot i have heard) but since the past two three times the papers are not really a peice of cake....it requires a little more thinking than just blindly marking the answers.....i agree that some of the FMGEs are as good as the indian graduates maybe better but there is wot someone rightly said as an "identity trap".....intead of thinking wot went wrong it would be wise to suggest to the future generations appearing in the exams to be on guard coz the bar may really go up next time!!

hi everyone.....

i was reading the mail and i have few words to say.
I passed out in 2007 and i sat for september 2006 exam without stduying hardly and i couldn't cleared the exam, than i sat and decided that i am responsible for this and i started taking coaching and i started sitting around 14 to 16 hours daily for studies and in march 2007 i cleared the exam.
So moral of this is you should study very hard and you should study according to the indian pattern, Because indian exam in very specific and its kind of exam which usualy for indian standered and we don't know that because we never asked so once you know what you have to study and what not you will clear the exam.
No teacher ask you to study whole book for any indian pg exam or FMGE exam they are few things which you should know and that you can know only when you contact peoples who previously cleared or some coaching centres in India.
Last time in sep 2006 when students went to National board and asked that why only 13 % result than they asked the 1 simple question
if 13 % peoples can pass the exam than why you can'y?
no one was heaving the answer.

this time in march result was 23 % 10 % better as last and now those guys who are coming in sep 2007 i think they are gonna rock the NBE as i know how they study.

any how thing is that you just study and you should know what to study and what to not because in indian exam this thing matters .

have a nice life .
any question then do write.

well....sincerely speaking its a baseless discussion carrying on now for ages.Making a comparitive note with Indian graduates just shows how insecure u feel.........
As for the exam being difficult it may be difficult but do u have an option of not clearing it?Just wish u guys goodluck.........and u should sail through....And as someone stated earlier clearing this exam helps u fight the tougher ones ahead.

another mr. know it all jumps up from nowhere.all the smart pants should shove their smart opinions up their,u know where.and i did'nt know FMGE 's were insecure when comparing themselves to their indian counterparts. Some of my best friends are indian medicos and we don't have any such feelings between ourselves.so stop creating this false godly image of the indian medicos.
These guys first lash at you and then inspire you.
