Firefox 3.0a5pre (Minefield) released!

The development name for Mozilla Firefox 3 is Gran Paradiso. The precursory releases were codenamed "Minefield", as this was the name of the trunk builds.

The largest known change for Firefox 3 is the implementation of Gecko 1.9, an updated layout engine. It will also provide CSS3 columns. Firefox 3 will include features that were bumped from Firefox 2, such as the overhauled Places system for storing bookmarks and history in an SQLite backend, according to the wiki.

Its an installer file which will install firefox 3.0 alpha testing version

Please note: This is an alpha testing version. This is meant only for Software developers, Alpha testers & Experienced firefox users.
As this is a new version, most of the firefox add-ons wont work in this alpha version. Only the promptly updated Add ons like McAfee Site Advisor, WOT, No Script & Ya ho o mail notifier will work in this version.

This is my user experience 2 days after installation,
Firefox 3.0a5 is pretty good almost like firefox 2.0.0.3

The only problem in its use is that BBCode Extra is not compatible with Minefield. Thats one big factor preventing me from using it while accessing rxpg.

icon_biggrin.gif Memory leaks are also seen in IE.
I think leaks in firefox is not due to the browser itself, but its the large array of Add ons thats causing the leak.
