I've now completed my internship in Burma.
I want to be a pathologist.
If I want to be trained in Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, how do I prepare?
What are my chances if I pass the AMC exam?
RCPA needs one year PG experience.
If I pass the exam and work for 1 year, do I have a chance to be trained in RCPA?
Can somebody help me please?

hi, i would be really thankful, if any one can advice me about what to do?
Let me introduce myself, i have completed my MBBS from pak,i have worked for 1 year with a cardiologist in his clinic( havent done houe job ), right now i m in uk n doing my PGcert in cardiology. and at the same time gathering information about Australia .
My question is ,what is better option for me, should i try to pass Plab n then go to Australia or should i go for Amc? Is there any hope for me in Australia ?

I am planning to write my AMC part -1 in July 2009. Couple of questions, it mights help other folks and seniors please pour in your experience.

1) I heard that after clearing AMC part -1 and to write AMC Part -2 there is a wait of nearly one year ? Is this true ?

2) If the above is true then can I get ( or am I allowed to ) a supervised Job ( or Training, hope it is paid ) in Australia with the pass results of AMC Part-1 ? Can this supervised training be done as part of AON job or District of work shortage jobs ?

3) And would this Job/training be considered as supervised training when I apply for Full ( or unconditional registration ) after clearing my AMC part -2 ? Or After clearning AMC Part -2 would I need to spend again 12 months of supervised job/training ?

4) How good are the chances for IMG's to get supervised training without a PR ? I heard that the situation is not good and becoming very competive. ANy body with some real info from heard ( or experinced ) experience ?

5 ) Once you clear the AMC part -1, I heard that the it has no expiry and valid life long ? Is it true ?

6) Now heard that in some states ( Queensland ) there is no need to do AMC part-2 if you have positive work place assesment ( and you would get a full registration )? Is this true ? If so how long should do the work place assesment ? How good is queensland for IMG's ?

7) Is it true that only Queensland medical board allows IMG's after AMC part-1 to take internship ? All other medical boards allow IMG's to internship after AMC part -2 only ? Is it true ?

After doing AMC Part -1 , and getting a AON job would that be considered as part of supervised training ? Also If work in the AON job for more than 12 months can I apply for Australian PR ? Or do I need to clear AMC Part-2 and get full registration for that ?

9) I heard that after one clears AMC Part -1, then one needs to find the Job/Internship position by themselves ( using some recruitment agency ). Then the employer would apply Visa and would contact the respective medical board to get the conditional registration. Is this true ? or would do we need to apply to the medical boards to get the internship position ?

10) Is there any website where the internship or supervised training jobs are posted for AMC part -1 passed candidates ? Would they consider my 3 years of post MBBS experience in India ? Any links of recruitment agencies which could find supervised jobs for AMC part -1 passed candiates ?

I am sure many folks would have similar questions in mind.
It would be so helpful if some one could steer me in the right direction on these questions.

i wanted 2 know would it b better if u do ur post grad here in India n then apply via AON pathway.if so what r the streams that are most in need there.my sister is a PR there will it help me in any way?
or is it better to apply as a grad n try doing post grad there in Australia .
