Hi borntowin, according your SS. your net speed is about 128kbps NOT 500kbps... i just realised that graph is always showing 500kbps irrespective of u r speed...
your pc downloaded about 3MB file in roughly about 30 sec.... that means per second i think it is 128 kbps...
pls correct me if i am wrong...
or try this site |
i too dunno yaar what the exact speed is then...the site which u mentioned shows the following results-
download speed--1777 kb/s
upload as 215 kb/s
ISp is MTNL

Thats the Download Speed of your Internet. The Maximum Promised speed must be ~2MBps.
500KBps download speed is pretty fast, It means you can open web pages fully in less than a second.
(Most of the Web pages are usually <500KB in size) |
it shows the p[romised speed as 100Mbps...like the image below...and yeah its pretty fast
 |
NO, that is your Ethernet card optimum speed ... not your internet speed

That is fantastic speed.... it is about 1.7Mbps ..... they must have promised 2Mbps then..... if that is true then you got very good deal.

I checked my speed again,
Got some interesting results,
Its a 2MBps data one connection,
Look at the difference between the download and upload speed at peak hours.

i m using Hathway's 256kbps connection... download speed is around 25-30KBps....
n pals, just for ur info.... 8 bits (b) = 1 byte (B)
this way, u cud calculate the ideal download speed tht u shud receive...
eg. mine is a 256kbps connection.... so.. my ideal download speed shud be 256/8 = 32KBps... so.. my download speed shud be around 30kBps ideally...
this way one can know how much the actual download speed is as compared to the ideal (promised by ur net service provider) speed....
