Catadioptrics

Catadioptrics are the most popular with the most modern design,


Advantages:-

•Combines the optical advantages of both lenses and mirror while cancelling their disadvantages.
• Excellent for deep sky observing and astrophotography
• Excellent for terrestrial viewing and photography
• virtually maintenance free

Disadvantages:-

• More expensive than other types

thanks blue mars.. although the price listing is missing, its wonderful info indeed....
i'm mad about astronomy... but never thought of getting a telescope... but with ur description of saturn, i m tempted!!

btw, one can subscribe to 'Scientific American India'... its a science mag... the oldest science publication still in print... presently they have a limited period offer of providing telescope free of cost for those who opt for 3 yr subscription... check out - w w w . s c i a m . c o . i n
