hi rif !!!

itz nice u r serious about studies , about medicine if u r doing questions through muddit khanna of medicine , just read th explainations of answers once and those lines which u think u cant remember or may
be important should be marked and learned well , also in muddit khanna
u have Q marked with some lines of explaination , so if u cant remember the whole explaination just read the Q mark lines as they r very high yield .

also , try read every suject in sequence like u should 1st pick patho , micro , Pharma and physio and than move to medicine ,

also , 1st read Anatomy than move to surgery ,

also , ist read medicine than move to PSM ,

rest regarding the other small subjects u can go through my other posts
where i have mentioned how to grasp small subjects in less time and
learn more .

also , divide time for each suject and read according to a timetable or study plan with some part shared for a bit of theory and some part for
reading and learning from mcq books and also check your weak points
by reading the explainations of wrong answers from any notes .

give little bit more time to medicine , gyane and surgery when u cover them as they carry more exam related question everytime in screening test and keep last 15 days for your weak ares and fact based subjects like PSM , Micro , Anat and medicine .......i have already metioned in my last post .......

rest dont go after lot of mcq books take just any one or 2 ......muddit khanna is one of the best choice for any PG exam in INDIA or the screening test ......it covers lot of mcqs in its explaination but remember than u need to go through muddit khanna 3 times atleast before exam
as every book need time to grasp it and also , depends how good u know
the concepts and theory in your university days .

dont worry and always think how beautiful your life will be when u will
walk with respect in a hospital and infront of your parents .......so clear ur screening test as fast as possible ......

also , help others when u pass GOD will full fill all your dreams !!!!

hi brahmin!thnx a lot for d quick reply!one doubt,is mudit khanna book really enough as far as d mcqs r concerned..i know d expl in mudit.k is authentic!but ven we do a subj,if we'll do only mcqs from mudit, will that be enough?how bout pg plus or sharad chandra..
right now i'm doing med frm mudit.k 's med book..after this plan2do PSM ..n then for physio, pharma n all..i had prepared a bit for USMLE -1..so little confident of these subj..but still for this exam,i'm not sure which r d high yielding topics!wat i plan is to finish one good readin of all subj except sarp till aug..n then 2revise whole aug n sept..think this will b fair enough for a good revision..!vat do u think about dis plan?

Quick Scroll think before u do !!! 05.13.08 (1 month ago) #14

buddy rif !!!

my FEEDBACK for a serious buddy like u .....

- its better u go through some other mcq book like pg plus or AAA but not sharad chandra as its very condensed and low yield book .

i would suggest you to buy aaa or pg plus and go through the mcqs from them after u know some theory concepts , go through them 2 to 3 times
till u understand how mcqs are asked and which topics are high yield ,
also the AAA pr pg PLUS has chapter wise distribution which will cover your all areas of medicine and other subjects ., you will also come to know your weak areas.

i personally read muddit khanna , AAA and coaching notes , i wont say you to rely on muddit khanna only as it covers only 60% topics so to cover the other topics which you have to read some other mcq book also

always think that enemy can be smarter than you and go to screening test with proper preperation and dont get overconfident confident by reading one book only .

also , if u have read physio , pharma and other subjects for USMLE it will help you a lot but still i advice you to go through these sujects in mcq books as indian pg exam or screening test is fact based and not concept based like USMLE .

rest , try to finish all your reading before last week of july and in august and september revise again and again .

i dont know what type of medical student you were in your medical university and whether you have studied it in english or not but i will tell
you one thing if you were a dedicated and good student in your batch and if you have studied in english medium you have maximum chances of passing in 1st attempt .

i again request you to work according to a strategy and revise any mcq book or self notes 3 to 4 times before exams and go through my replies and feedbacks on this forum it will help u ............also , if you cant revise the self notes atleast revise the mcq books as many times as you can
because time limitation may hamper you ........my best wishes r with u

ny relevant questions r welcome !!!

Quick Scroll my tips - 05.19.08 (1 month ago) #17

hi rif ,

my advice -

1st go through little bit of anantomy of eye , spend some time may be 4 hrs if you can take out , than you dont have to know whole opthomaology , as there are more than 100 diseases related to eye problems you dont need to know all ......just some high yield areas accordning to my experience which are asked in every exam of the world ........

so , learn these diseases -

- conjuctivitis
- glaucoma
- uveitis and iris related ailgements
-cornea
-retina and vasular problems
- refrataory errors - like astigmatism , myopia etc
- optic neuritis

so , read these topics well and these can hep you to grasp any eye
related mcqs of the screenig test or any other exam whether USMLE
or INDIAN pg exam

also , try to get some easy book of optho , may be of indian author if you are in india or get it from some friend but if you can do that also , just read these topics from internet and start solving mcqs related to these topics .

rest medicine becomes beaurti\ful whether it is optho or ENT by only when you study hard and know the things by heart ...........i can understand that you might be pissed off from these small subjects like ENT , optho , Dermatology but keep your self motivated and ask yourself how beautiful will be that day when you will pass the screenign test in 1st attempt and you will get the energy to work hard more ........

keep yourself motivated .......u have to b the best medical doctor and u have to show the world that studying abroad doeant mean that we are less to any othe rperson in the world ............also believe me the worlds best cardiologists , surgeons etc where all like you one day and therer motivation and hardword took them to great heights ..........

ny probs and genuine requests r welcome .........

Quick Scroll u can do it !!! 05.20.08 (1 month ago) #20

buddy russfear !!!

indeed a strange nick name u ve .....soundz crazy .....just teasing !!!

ny wy letz come to the point ...

seemz u ve covered the major chunk of the papper 2 of the screening test of the exam .........now u can do the following .......

- revise from AAA all the subjects what u have studied ......and revise it many times .......but try to read the explainations of many important diseases in medicine from some notes or hanboks again example .....diseases in endocrine , respi , infectious diseases and some diseases of cardology can be re read from any where apart from reading AAA and re read gyanee diseases again before exam like DUB , cervical cancer etc which r easy to learn .

- also , in last month re read small subjects like optho , ENT , Dermatology and radio from any mcq book if u dont have time .........

try to finish as many reading of AAA now as by now you will be having some concepts about the many diseases you have read from explaination book ?

in last few days i have mentioned in my last posts what areas should be concentrated !!!

nd believe me you cant pass screening by only studying med , O&G, surgery only .......u need to read other subjects also becuse this exam test all what u have studied in last 6 years and those small subjects help u to score 30 to 40 points extra !!!

rest Salgunan is a good book but use it to test yourself every sunday in timed mode and see what r your weak ares in each subject ......dont use it to learn mcqs ...........just test yourself by this book . i used to test my self
every week end from this book and i used to know where i stand .
iused to do this book only when i had finished some subject completely from my notes and other books .

so , work hard and my best wishes r wid you and help others when u pass the screening test GOD will full fill all your dreams in life !!!!
