there is no money bond for civilians who join after mbbs but yes for AFMC guys there is a bond of 15 lakhs.u can not leave the army once u join before 5 years unless u have a conveincing reason to leave.after completing ssc u will have ex service man quota in army post graduate institutions and its not very difficult to get.pg is not a big issue once u complete ur 5 years.

hi riya
army pool of doctors is from 2 sources.one is AFMC which does not produce enough doctors for army requirement so army takes doctors from civil institutes.
if u r an AFMC graduate and immediately after completing ur course but before the commencment of internship u decided to leave the army then only u need to pay 15 lakhs.also suppose u do ur internship from army, take up the job and then u decide to leave then it is up to the discreation of army to leave u or not.army will leave if u have a solid reason which army should accept.in the second case u dont have to pay 15 lakhs.
if u r a civilian graduate u shall be taken directly for the job.the second option written above for AFMC guy would be applicable for u.that means u do not have to pay any money to the army if u have a solid reason to leave.mind u its almost impossible to leave army once u join before u serve for a minimum of 5 years.after tha u can leave at any time.
riya i hope this time i am clear to u if not reply back.
rega
rds.

riya to me u sounds like a person who wants to do PG and settle down in civil life then why r u thinking of joining army if u have to leave?a person can think of joining army only in three conditions
1.s/he is in dire need of a job becos of financial burdens.
2.s/he is motivated and likes army from the core of his/her heart.
3.s/he is frustrated of writing entrance exams many times.
if u belong to any of these categories then u should join army becos
1.job security and salary is unmatchable than any other civial job.
2.no explanation becos u urself likes to join.
3.after serving for a minimum of 5 years u can either continue or come out.in both the conditions doing PG is not a big thing.in some of the state entrance u have a state quota for ex-servicemen.otherwise u have an ex-servicemen quota in army entrance exam which is not very competitive.

dear loney
i was lucky t have ex AFMC profs as my professors in ug days ...i liked der approach a lot...i think thts the only reason i would like to do my pg from AFMC ..and i would really like to work in civil life coz i dont think working in civil life is all about money n comfort,.. that ll really be a wrong attitude. der r many organisations , trust n our govt sector where service can b done.so is der anything wrong if i want to work for civil life n jus dream about doing pg from AFMC ?? will it b wrong for me t think of joining amc??

dear craby

u r not wrong at all in ur thinking.service can be done anywhere.doesnt matter whether u r in army or outside.

good people/professors r every where,in both civil and army.just becos u met a good professor from army should not be the only criteria of joining army and AFMC .u might meet a bad one after joining AFMC .

REGARDS loney
