what u said chinni babu is true,if u see an mdrd it is dependent i mean it will cost u crores to set up private practise
why i gave mdrd 1st is from job point of view,u get minimun 1 lakh salary no tensions, with general med u tk up a job under corporate then u will b paid around 80,000 sometimes even lesser for working the whole day.
the above ranking is purely for job prospects view becoz how many can afford private practise?

let me give u an example
the private practise is totally a different ball of game from jobs which u do in corporate hospitals and private medical colleges.
if u want to shine as a doctor, earn good name and fame ,earn money,do some charity also then private practise is the answer to all the above things.
if u r sure that u want to do private practise in future after some years then better to tk a branch that will suit u, it does not matter whether u do diploma in a gud feild(pediatrics,OBGY) or a degree in that feild...then only ur way of dealing with patients is of utmost importance along with some sound knowledge of common cases, ofcourse u will also then pep up ur knowledge with workshops n conferences.

if u luk at private practise point of view my grandpa was just a dch but he was one of the most famous pediatricians far more than most MDs,my dad an MD general medicine and my mom a dgo,but my mom earns a lot more than dad jus by doin caesareans and hysterectomies ,not that my dad earns any less,he also sees most of the Dermatology
cases.
the most earning branch is general surgery and orthopaedics
though as far as i knw in private practise,Anaesthesia
also gud no need of private practise same everywhere.
so friends it does not matter what u tk if u want to do private practise,IT IS UR TALENT WHICH MATTERS and UR ART IN DEALING WITH PATIENTS THAT IS IMPORTANT
by the way im from tirupathi and hv taken md pharma through comed,i came for counselling my rank is 300 odd but cud not get any resonable seat in conselling i want to set up a pharmaceutical company in future

what ur professors said was absolutely true.
this time when i attended all india counselling people were flocking to take ophtal and Anaesthesia
seats, since i was a newcomer i was asking opinions too...i did go to many people for their opinion, what they told me was amazing.
i was a person who was thinking of no other branch other than general medicine or pediatrics, but then realization dawned.
i consulted mr.sureshnaidu,ms oph, this is what he said"u knw i had to tk oph in those days, initially i too wanted only general med like u but as i came out and startd practise i feel so fulfilled''
he told me that he did a fellowship in myopia correction and is now a concultant to various hospitals,he gets paid 50,000 odd for every myopic correction he does, not only that he told me how coolest of the cool branch ophthal was no emergencies, night shifts, infact a neat and clean branch...sure shot jobs and if u do fellowships then dhamaka,u get paid handsomely,he told me that fellowships are avaliable for cataract, retinal surgery, anterior chamber, glaucoma etc.
when i met dr.ramakrishna,md Anaesthesia
,he told me that Anaesthesia
is now selling like hot cakes too,he told me that critical care is associated with Anaesthesia
,ICU,NICU,PICU is added to Anaesthesia
curriculum.
and then now with Anaesthesia
u can specialize in cardiac, neuro, pediatric Anaesthesia
,pain management,he said for every case of cardiac Anaesthesia
one gets 10,000 paid, now isnt that tempting too....
regarding u drpkeerti my advice is if ur husband is a surgeon or orthopedician, close ur eyes and take Anaesthesia
,also tk Anaesthesia
if u want to earn megabucks and feel u can be in gud contact with doctors around.
now if u want coolest of the cool life take ophtal, infact i feel jealous of my girlfriends who r pg's in ophtahl, neat and clean life, free after 3pm,and moreover regular op for ophtahl is fantastic..refractive errors, cataract, conjunctivites, keratites cases u get galore anyday.
now think abt ur options.
