Quick Scroll Is Appg NO more an option for OC's 05.04.08 (2 months ago) #1

it seems that its time for all the students belonging to OC category to just forget about PG in Andhra ,or just join any other place in india except Andhra

there are two main problems :
1) the govt never increase the seats
2) the great problem of reservations .

we are also cornered with the fact that we cannot appear for all AIPG.
if the situation goes on then we have only three options , DNB , or any national institutes or finally , get out of India.
even though we struggle so hard in trying to get a seat, and even if we get good ranks , we are not able to get good branches which is very frustrating
and we should not forget that all these reservations are promised by the leaders of forward caste for votes.- its just cheap politics.
it looks like more than 75% of all seats, just go to everyone except OC category.

what ever you said absolutely true , its very clear that all the OC's are actually treated as 'Out Caste' . if this goes on may be we will totally loose everything.
actually i've heard that even in america the reservation system is as screwed up as ours is . but a few years back i ve read that a merit student approached the court of justice in america . his case was that he was
" REVERSE DISCRIMINATED" AND SINCE HE BELONGS TO a forward caste he was denied the seat, which is clearly happening in india now.
i dont think the courts in india are really as strong as in america, so this seems to be a near impossibility in india . i tell you guys so that i just want to let you know that every where this problem persists .
now coming back to hyderabad, i think we all need to get united and fight for this atleast for once.
the most important participants for this are the 3rd and the final year students as this is their future and the present students are really the victims .
fight for all india PG is a very genuine thing that we can do .
any way everyone are busy finding their own way out . we just need to fight strongly just once.

u r right man...as far as appg is concerned yes there is lot of difficulty for all aspiring pgs to get a seat in their subject of interest....i heard recently that even Jammu doctors are permitted to write aipgme....the situation in ap is worsening due to many reasons.... 1.increasing interest of the aspiring pg students in degrees which give quick monetary benefits... 2.the roster gamble during counsellng... 3.ofcourse the reservations.... but i personally feel that the situation in appg is ok ... in the national aipgme there are 2400 seats...about 70000-80000 guys take the exam... so the situation is no good either...but u can ofcourse have more chances of getting the seat of your choice in aipgme In ap there there is severe shortage of seats in sv and au universities... as of now we oc guys have nothing much to do but to work harder and harder...as most of the reasons behind this difficulty are not in our hands.... icon_sad.gif

Actually there are something’s we need to consider when we are in ap.

1) People in Andhra are very obsessed with medicine. so we have one of the toughest competition in India .

2) one great frustrating thing about APPG is that the answers are very ambiguous, many questions have more than one right option and I don’t think even the one who sets the question knows what the right answer may be .
Actually to let you guys know; I ve heard that in Chartered Accountant exam they have rules that the questions should not be asked from journals not older than 6 months or so . I am not sure of the time limit. We don’t have such rules in APPG

3) and the most frustrating thing is the key . the people in IIT once had this problem and they approached the court and the court favoured the students .

There is one good advantage in AIPG that’s the number of seats . well the situation is just not better its far better boss , there are no in service quota which is just eating away more than one third the seats.

The greatest advantage is for the students of SVU followed by the AU zone.

Is anybody planning to file petitions against the NTR university for the next academic year ? since there is nothing we can do this year.
actually i think every year we are making a mistake by taking up the issues just before counseling and it is always hurried up . as there is enough time for us to approach the courts.

rules are every where regarding the books from which questions have to be given . it has to be standardised . Only problem is there must be someone to ask / demand the list of books from which books questions will be asked .This has to be demanded through court and lawers only.
Everybody has to think about the ambiguity of the roster system which is already is in the court of law. Everybody has to demand immmediate release of the key after the exam ( through court ) in the next entrance.
That is the only way to prevent problem to occur next time .
Regarding all india entrance Bc students have objected to donate the seats from their quota to the central quota and in kthe same way oc people have ojected for allotment from the open seats. So there is stalemate in this matter which has to resolved among the pg / mbbs aspirants only

the greatest problem with our indian system is that the law is too perfect but the implementation is just too bad.we sure need to approach the court strongly for two things
1) the key and ofcourse 2) removal of the roaster system .
(the high court initially said no for this roaster system but back then , the university approached the supreme court where the students were not able to afford the lawyers in the supreme court).

but regarding the AIPGE , again yes every one are aware of the fact that a few bc seats are the main hurdle. but as a matter of fact , these days the courts are trying to give some genuine judgements. is it not worth giving a sincere and strong try regarding joining the AIPGE .

if you see actually the present situation is a different from the
situation five years ago. the so called students from the bc's actually no more are bc's. they are on par with students from open category. and if you see the results of APPG 2008 , most of them are really in the merit among the top 500.
so may be now the quotas are no more really helpful to them(especially the toppers) . may be its worth a try breaking the ice and see if both oc's and bc's together lose a few seats , finally end up gaining many seats.

i dont know if this can be possible ; since the bc's are oppsed to AIPGE in the view that they lose some seats , is there anyway that oc's only
can agree to give their part to the centre and that centre can allow only oc's to sit for AIPGE ?
this sounds wild but even the government is also wild enough to so badly corner out the oc's leaving them one good option of running away from india.
even if there is any chance , please share the options .
india is democratic , we are good at bending the rules.

the only way is 2 demand 2 join all india pool.all these yrs ap doctors do not have all india permission as ap govt does not wanted 2 give 15% seats to the national pool as there is no researvation for bc.but this year as supreme court gave permission 2 give reservations 2 the central universities, there wil be no disadvantage for bc students if we also join all india pool. some1 said it is a tough situation even if v have all india eligibility as 70000 people compete.i agree that it is tough but observe that even if v dont qualify also, advantage wil b thr as those persons who gets rank upto 1500 in all india dont prefer 2 take in ap.by that way even if v got some big rank also v can get a seat in ap.

the other thing is about reverse sliding due 2 which ocs r having massive loss that v r not allowed even 2 take diplomas or paraclinics once reverse sliding starts.if u closely observe 50 points from the 100 point roster table is alloted 2 reservations.it means for every 100 points 50 points will b definitely filled by reservations, then again y this rule of reverse sliding comes??
