Hinna,
You are right in a way, but look at their argument--what they say is "we are giving all the information that doctor needs to make an informed decision before coming here and then we will let them decide if they want to come here or not."
and surprisingly, many of our drs are still writing PLAB
-i am so surprised --every backstreet knows that drs in uk are being kicked out but still plab2 places are fully booked out till july--so its our people's choice as well which goes into this. they are not alone to be blamed.

I don't think BAPIO was successful in raising money. first of all there is no gurantee that BAPIO will win the case.

JOB SITUATION IS TERRIBLY BAD HERE IN THE UK. There is no doubt about that. specieally now (augst 2006).
as far as i gathered around 5-7 years ago uk had realised the shortage of doctors and the deficit of UK grown docs. so they canged a lot of thier internal policies and increased the no. of med students giving them grants and lots of facilities.
these measures which started about 5 years ago have started to bear the fuit now as enough UK grown doc have come out of med school and joined the job hunt.
hence they have changed the laws again to allow these HGD (home/UK Grown Doctors) to be employed easily, as they were failing in the competition with PLAB
Docs.
At the moment There is another Big competetor ....the EU docs.
altogether it is a bad time for people done the PLAB
. and i hope we get better times somehow..... though i dont know how.......

You can write MRCP
2 (Written) and MRCP
Part 2 (PACES) if you have completed 18 months of required training in any of the Hospitals around the World that are recognised by the Royal Colleges. Practically, most of the Hospitals recognised by the WHO are on Royal College's approaved list.
You can come to the UK and write MRCP
Part 2 and in the meantime can also go for the PLAB
2, but coming to UK for PLAB
2 exclusively DOES NOT make any sense at the moment.
Thank You.
