Quick Scroll Sponsorship Problem for a UK Citizen 09.29.04 (4 years ago) #1

i am a uk national and i am looking to sponsor the daughter of an argentine friend of mine who wants to come to scotland to study english. she is wanting to study full time for a year and thus wants to obtain a student visa open for a year. She will be staying in our house and we will be supporting her financially in all aspects from giving her food, board, spending money and the funds for her english course at a private institution here in glasgow. We have sufficient money to sponsor her for this year long period and will be providing the necessary documentation. The question i have relates to the visa requirement that:
"he/she has sufficient funds to maintain and accommodate him/herself without working or recourse to public funds." As she will be coming over here without proof of her own personal ability to this type of funds such as in her own bank account will this affect her application? What we would prefer not to have to do is transfer funds to her account due to the cost of transfers and loss of value in currency exchange through the banks. Any help would be much appreciated

You can contact UK home office in London and explain to them the situation. They will definitely come out with a solution as your problem is a genuine one.
