charing cross is better because of reputation. It is the best in uk right now and spr and consultant jobs also come easier after doing the rotation.

I`m in the St Georges and the general consesus is that it is the 3rd best in the country after Maudsley and Oxford.Charing Cross is good in that it is a London rotation but I would hate to work there because most of it is in inner London and the quality of life is really poor, crappy accomodation, high cost of living...and its so busy that you don`t get much time to study for your exams anyway.I was offered a job in St Mary`s but didn`t take it as its inner city as well and I don`t fancy working there..Charing Cross is better than Nottingham although its definitely not the best in the country(far from it)..but be ready to work your arse off if you opt for it.

I don't know if Charing X is the best - I am at Maudsley and gob smacked with it - it really is brilliant, with very busy acute wards, plenty subspecialties, brilliant teaching and lots of research opportunities not to mention the library which is overwhelming. However, I have heard many good things about Charing X and St George's. Don't know about Nottingham.
