Hi
Do u think that the ans of that Q will be -------------corresponding 2 plasma only?;as it seems Bombay blood grp only & Bombay will reject othr than Bombay(hh) grp
> but do u think it 2 be practical as Bombay blood grp is not stored in blood bank;; & will take approximately 1lakh 86000 samples 2 match randomly 2 find another Bombay grp;; Is it feasable in emergency?
> Can mismatch be due 2 bad agents?
regards

A 55 year old male accident victim in casualty urgently needs blood. The blood bank is unable to determine his ABO group, as his red cell group and plasma group do not match. Emergency transfusion of patient should be with:
A. RBC corresponding to his red cell group and colloids/crystalloid
B. Whole blood group corresponding to his plasma group
C. O positive RBC and colloids/crystalloid
D. AB negative whole blood

NB.The Bombay blood group is a rare group except in parts of India where a frequency of 1 in 7,600 has been observed

** U have notgone thro the book;;so u don't belong 2 this forum; 1st read the book & then join discussion, lest find ur way dear

After a long discussion it was agreed (agreed by us not by the AIIMS
Quesiton setter !!!!) that
If there is a problem with Grouping, you have to give only Group O (Choice 3)
If there is a problem with Crossmatching you give Bombay group ie the plasma group (Choice 2)
After reading this question once more, viewers can tell what this question says, whether the problem is with the Grouping or Cross matching

Hi
I am poor in english
>where's written in Q there is falult in grouping!they cannot match
>it clear in the q -------------1)there is mismatch;;; these lead 2 the staffs think that 2)there is fault in grouping(restricted knowledge of Staffs)
> can't u read the word as in the Q ?
> I am pretty convinced! u all ralso convinced!
> If u have the concept of Bloodbank staffs --U will think there can't be mismatch-there is fault in grouping!
But if u r Doctor, u will think mismatch is posible, & will order a bombay immediately
> Finally we all have done internships , have u ever seen a blood bnk canot group?;;; the pt. party will feed the bank with sweets I think!
* what's the role of bloodbank then? :P selling blood in BLACK 2 vampires
Can we have a view of Dr HIMANgshu Tyagi?

A 55-year-old male accident victim in casualty urgently needs blood. The blood bank is unable to determine his ABO group, as his red cell group and plasma group do not match. Emergency transfusion of patient should be with:
1. RBC corresponding to his red cell group and colloids/crystalloid.
