the answer must be blood culture.

Widal and weil felix is actual the similar test.
By the way the WWf can be used as diagnostic with one test. it need to be done twice ... wwf is a paired sera test

antibody titre starts rising towards the end of first week.so widal test wd b negative during first wk.

Blood culture + in 90%in first wk and 75%in 2nd wk.since widal more sensitive in 2nd wk-
at this point -widal shd b done.

equal importance should be given to blood cultue and widal (clinical medicine is not just one solid investigation as in mcq)-u can still find brucella in the blood. harrison says nothing much about widal either.
