A 6-month-old baby is admitted with complaints of vomiting and abdominal distention of 36 hours duration. On examination, the baby is dehydrated and the abdomen is distended, there is visible intestinal peristalsis and a mass is palpable in the right hypochondrium. Most likely diagnosis is:
A. Tabes mesenterica
B. Acute intussusception
C. Meconium ileus
D. Congenital pyloric stenosis

Congenital pyloric stenosis.
Blood gas will show Metabolic alkalosis.
More common in male children.
Typical presentation after 6 weeks of life

see .. abdominal distention
and mass in rt hypochondrium .....

in congenital pyloric stenosis they gemerally mentoin projectile vomiting

Hi everybody,

1. 6 months old baby.
2. sudden onset of abdominal distention with vomiting.
3. visible intestinal peristalsis.
4. palpable mass in rt. hypochondrium.

With the above finding,ans. should be acute intussusception.

Tum kya kahte ho dr.kay,anuj,mani.
