daignostic kits for diagnosis of invasive amebiasis is based on ELISA and GEL precipitation techniques.
moreover,IHA tests are difficult to interpret as titres remain high even after 10yrs of infection.
while the ELISA comes bak to normal value within 1-6 yrs.

while IHA has the advantage of being highly sensitive,the proportion of false positives are very high.
again,ELISA has the advantage of being both sensitive and specific and thus more reliable.

so, docs why cant the answer be ELISA???? 8)
we have so many points to fight FOR ELISA.
