Quick Scroll MRCP 1 after PLAB 10.05.04 (3 years ago) #1

Are doctors with MRCP 1 (UK or Ireland ) given preference over doctors who have only passed PLAB for SHO (Training or or Locum) jobs.

i dont think so. but i'm not sure. i have passed part1 but still no interviews.
others think that if i have passed part1, not suitable for prho post. so, ihaven't got sho- b/c no experience here.
i havent got prho-b/c too old and senior for prho

MRCP PArt 1 does not always give you preference over those who don;t have it. In the same way, having it does not means that you don;t qualify for a job.

If you look at application forms, they only look at the minimum requirements, i.e., if you have more it does not count against you. At interview they will look at whether you have the right motivation for the job and will take on the person to whom the job willl be most useful (and who fits best in terms of personality).

I have things PRHOs recruited at age 30 so age is not a problem
