The British Council has invited applications from students of Goan origin for the academic year 2004. In this regard, the De Souza Trust provides financial assistance in the form of a scholarship for Goans to study in the Untied Kingdom. The funds for this scholarship are derived from the estate of Deigo Frank de Souza. Since 1998, when the scholarship was first introduced, ten Goan students have successfully completed their studies in the UK in subjects as diverse as media management, architecture, computing and design, TV documentary-making,
music therapy, architectural conservation and human rights. Application
forms can be collected the British tourist assistance office, Dempo Tower,
Patto Plaza, Panaji. To be presented to the British Council, Mumbai by May
31.
