Quick Scroll FAQ: Exemption For MRCS after MS from India? 05.26.04 (4 years ago) #1

Hey all
this is the latest mail that i got from the MRCS people....no hospital..not even manipal as some of you guessed...is exempt from MRCS ....and there are no FRCS exams anymore!
have a look if u feel like..there is more to come in this mail thread
aandrei

Here it goes:

Dear Doctor

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh no longer hold any Fellowship Examinations. You would not be granted any exemptions with your Masters from AIIMS or from any other Indian hospitals.

The MRCSI is not being held in Delhi, all other available centres are listed in the Examination Database:
Only RxPG members can see links here! Register or Sign In!
You may apply to take the exam in any of these centres.

You are not required to be the same nationality as the country the exam is being held in.

Kind Regards
Paula Watson

this is what i wrote!!
Dear Ma'm
Thank you Ma'am! I am indeed indebted for the quick response...and it has certainly helped us a lot!

Just a few more things if you please...

# Is it necessary to take PLAB 1 and 2 even after going through MRCS 1,2 and 3 PLUS three years of post graduate masters in surgery in india?

# Also i passed IELTS in APRIL 2003...does it mean that i will have to take the IELTS again around the time i take my MRCS 3 which is maybe after three years from now?

# Also Ma'am would you be able to tell us if job prospects are better with MRCS (1,2,3) plus post gradaute experience (Masters in Surgery 3 years) THAN with PLAB 1 and 2?

We would indeed be obliged if you could again respond and help us out...
Thanking you
Sincerely yours'
a buch of anxious doctors

This is what they replied!

Thank you for your email.

I can answer your questions as follows -

1) If you pass the MRCS exam you are exempt from PLAB .

2) We do not run the IELTS exam, and are therefore not in a position to answer this question.

3) We cannot comment on your job prospects.

Regards

Three year PG experience must help u to get a better job. When u pass MRCS even 1 and/ or 2, will be in a much better than one who just passed PLAB after MBBS.
