Quick Scroll Hyper acute graft rejection ..... Type II Hypersensitivity. 05.11.05 (3 years ago) #4

Quote:
T 4 is res for graft rejections

T4 does not have a reserved berth in the rejection "Shatabdi express"
Type IV is responible for ACUTE and CHRONIC rejection reactions. But not Hyperacute.....the pathophysiology does not allow it. It needs some time..say few days to weeks.

Quote:

Type of Rejection Description

Acute Usually occurs within days to weeks due to primary activation of the T-cell response

Chronic Usually occurs months to years after transplantation;probably occurs by continued, albeit muted, cellmediated toxicity and other unclear causes

color=red]Hyperacute Usually occurs minutes to hours after transplantation and is caused by preformed antidonor antibodies activating complement

Quote:

It is TYPE II -Hyperacute graft rejection: preformed anti-graft Abs in host

"It" in the last sentence points ot Acute graft rejection(days to weeks later) and NOT hyperacute graft rejection(minutes to hours later)

love that aqua. i had marked type 3.

in anycase it cant be tyoe 4 as hyper acute rejection occurs on table witihn second of releasing the clamps on the renal arteries.

iword dolittle if i may- you may know some things better- some others may know something less-but we are all trying ot help each other here- but your way and language in refuting the answers given by others looks likeu want to degrade this to a game of oneupmanship.

may i remind u it does not matter in the least woh gets how many answers right on this forum -its wat happesn in the three hrs on the second sunday of jan that decides who is better. so let us all be humble and co operative.

hyperacute rejection is an example of type 2 hypersensitivity. It is anti body mediated. There is no ambiguity in this, unlike the controversial HLA post.

I didnt mean to offend anyone nor is it my intention to "dominate" or "degrade".

Anyway, if i made u misunderstand my intentions the MISTAKE IS IN ME. so i will do my best not to offend. And i apologise.

I understand the anguish that each one feels when they are facing the situation "Oh my God the answer i mrked is said to be wrong!" And i shoudnt have discussed this in a critical manner as if it were any other questions posted regularly. I had apparently missed the importance and impact that the posts and replies to AIIMS 2005 questions will have on the aspirants who have just given the exam. I apologise sincerely to Dr.Vertika whom in Dr.Partha's words i have offended( he does not mention the name; but i presume the person whom i quoted must be the one i offended and i had quoted Dr.Vertika!)

May be Dr.Partha has gone thro all of my posts and is expressing his opinion based on them. If so, I have not been told so by anyone till now(that does not mean it is considered right my everyone else!). I personally think it is not that easy for me to change my way of dealing with questions(which is almost always critical and argumentive!) it has been so for many many years. But i will try to tone dowm my critical self.

If u all want me to better 'shut up' with respect to the AIIMS posts i would do it (sadly though! icon_sad.gif )so as not to disrupt the smooth sailing discussions!

Best wishes for all of you.

With lots of apologies,
Doolitle

i had some notes on it downloaded but cant find it now.

as for your apology- it were better not to take names.but looks like u have apologised enough(and then some more).and u r right about feelings attached to exam questions.

in any case let the matter end here and move forward .
