sir i m final yr MBBS stud from KMC Mangalore[MAHE ],want seriously prepare for UPSC CIVIL with subjects PUB.AD. and PYCHOLOGY,which was ur sub,so iwanna to know all the books u have read for psychology and GS. n if u can tell abt PUB AD,
ONE of my frend SIDDHARTHA got 55 RANK so i have idea but his sub. is different.

sir please provide me some way out for mentally perapiring and also in subject selection for the main and optional and since I am a computer engineer

you are acomputer engineer so i fell you can be more comftble vth science and semi science subjects

you can choose from

Geography
psychology
even i recomment pol sci
if you r intetrestedin Chemistry is also a good optional

Take 10 yrs of each subject and see how these subjects actually

Choice of the optional is the most crucicial step dont be in haste a wrong choice cud end your race b4 it begins

be ultraa care ful not to completelt rely on others advice

see the saly bus ask people who hv taken it

i can gv you an example

Pub adm is one optional where one can score 400 marks also

but at the same tim you can get 250 also even vth average attempt

where as geography is one optional where an average attempt usually fetches 300 marks

so chose ur opionals according to your strengths

if you hv good command on language

u can take pub adm, sociology,pol sci

othervise geog and psycho are good

if you like any of your subject Engnrng
take advice of your seniors

See Dr. I amalso thinkng of hitory since I am from my school days interetsed in history and also next option with it I suppose sociology would be better or geography ..

But I need one more help that is books names and any tutorials and magzines that you would have used or rather you suggest for the person giving his first attempt .specially for general studies .. So please kindly reply to this message so that I can as early as possible start prepairing for UPSC exams and also some how if you can mail me fast ..

Congrats Dr. Sumith....U really will serve as a role model for we medicos intending to take up civil service. Can you advise what subjects will be ideal to ensure max score 4 a medico. I am sure med science is not gonna b very scoring for mains. Is there any reliable coaching centre in Chennai or Delhi?
