Post : Sr. Research Officer (Medical) (Public Health) One Post

Pay Scale : 10000-325-15200


Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

1. MBBS
2.

6 years research/teaching experience in Public Health related to Communicable Diseases

or

2 years post MBBS experience for those possessing postgraduate qualification (MD) in Epidemiology / Public Health.

Desirable

i) Knowledge of National Health Programmes related to Communicable Diseases.

ii) An insight and understanding of current challenges and research opportunities to control of Communicable Diseases.

iii) Experience in Health Research Management

iv) Ability to use different programme application of “Windows”

v) Principles of surveillance, outbreak investigation, drug and vaccine trials.

vi) Exposure to elements of policy, planning and translation of research into action.

vii) Skills in writing research reports.

viii) Postgraduate qualification


Job Requirements:

Under the general supervision of DG, ICMR, the incumbent would be required to :

(i) Co-ordinate and facilitate development of balanced portfolio of intramural and extramural research programme.

(ii) To steer and lead new extramural initiatives

(iii) Liase with other health research agencies in Communicable Diseases

(iv) Assist in facilitating intramural research programme
(v) Facilitate writing up of research reports.

Age Limit: Below 45 years as on 8.7.2005. Relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC/PH & departmental candidates in accordance with Govt. of India rules in force.


Pension will be admissible as per new restructured defined contribution Pension system. NPA as per rules of the Council is admissible to Medical Graduates only.

) at ICMR Website.(http://www.icmr.nic.in) Forms duly completed together with application fee of Rs.25/- by crossed IPO drawn in favour of D.G., ICMR New Delhi should be sent to Admn. Officer (Admn.I), Indian Council of Medical Research, V. Ramalingaswami Bhawan, Ansari Nagar, Post Box No.4911, New Delhi-110029, so as to reach on or before 8.7.2005. SC/ST/PH and Council’s employees are exempted from this payment of application fee. Applications received late/incomplete and or without fee will not be entertained.

Note:- Since it is not possible for call all the eligible candidates for the interview the applicants will be shortlisted for this purpose and the decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regard. Candidates called for interview for the post of Sr. Research Officer will be paid 2nd class to and fro rail fair by shortest route on production of documents. Any canvassing by or on behalf of candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/ recruitment shall be considered as disqualification.
