this is what i found on net:

Wernicke's pupillary reaction
Also known as:
Wernicke's sign

Synonyms:
Hemiakinesis, hemiopic pupillary rigidity, hemiopic pupillary reaction.

Associated persons:
Carl Wernicke


Description:
The absence of direct reaction to light in the blind part of the retina. This occurs in hemianopsies, which are caused by a lesion in the tractus opticus.

First discovered in 1881 by Hermann Wilbrand (1851-1935), and again in 1883 by Wernicke.
