Quick Scroll treatment of common STD infections 06.20.05 (3 years ago) #1

CANDIDA (vulvovagival)
clotrimazole 500 mg pessary stat
fluconazole150 mg stat
RECURRENT CANDIDA (vulvovagival)
clotrimazole 500 mg pessary weekly *6 mths
fluconazole100 mg weekly *6 mths

PID
i.v. ofloxacin 400mg BD plus i.v. metronidazole 500mg TID for 14 days OR
i.v. ciprofloxacin 200mg BD plus i.v. (or oral) doxycycline 100mg BD plus i.v. metronidazole 500mg TID for 14 days

GONORRHEA
Single Ciprofloxacin/Ofloxacin/Ampicillin with probenecid(if no resistance)
Combining effective antimicrobial therapy against C. trachomatis with single dose therapy for gonococcal infection is appropriate because it coexists frequently

CHLAMYDIA
Doxycycline/azithromycin/erythromycin course

SYPHILIS
Benzathine penecillin im one dose

CHANCROID
Azithromycin/Ceftriaxone/Ciprofloxacin one dose

GRANULOMA INGUINALE(Donovaniosis)
Azithromycin/Ceftriaxone/Co-trimoxazole/Doxycycline/Erythromycin

Doxycycline(1st choice)
Erythromycin
