Also produced in small quantities in fallopian tubes and cyst fluid, lungs, thyroid, tonsils, breast milk, sweat, tears

INCREASED in
acute and chronic pancretitis- more in acute; goes up 3 fold and decreases in 5-7 days
pancreatic ascites, pancreatic trauma,
gallstones - can decrease with passage of stones
parotitis
malignancies of pancreas, colon, lung
Hepatic and renal dysfunction(as these organs help to clear body of amylase)
