Parthenium (congress grass) dermatitis is one of the most common causes of airborne contact dermatitis in India.

White dermographism is seen in atopic dermatitis and not urticaria.

Berloque dermatitis is due to plant: Many perfumes and colognes contain oil of bergamot, an extract of the peel of a specific orange grown in the South of France and the Calabria district of Italy. When this oil comes in contact with the skin and the skin is exposed to sunlight, the oil of bergamot causes the skin to discolor. With repeated exposures to sunlight, the discoloration becomes permanent.

Stigmata of atopic constitution

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• Xerosis – pathologic dryness of the skin, conjunctiva, or mucous membranes
• Hyperlinearity of palms and soles ('ichthyosis palms')
• Linear grooves on fingertips
• Dennie-Morgan infraorbital folds – a line below both lower eyelids caused by edema
• Thinning of lateral eyebrows (Hertoghe’s sign)
• Low hairline ('fur hat-like')
• Facial pallor and orbital darkening
• Delayed blanch responses to acetylcholine
• White dermatographism – a whitening of the skin in the site and configuration of applied stroking by pressure or friction
