Initially the Home Office used to issue a full six months visa extention for those with clinical attachments.
Now they issue a visa extention only for the period till which you have the attachment.
I know many people with a visa extention from few weeks to a couple of months.

They Charge £500 per extention/visa issue.

Initially they used to give 1 year Permit Free Training visa's for all doctors... even those with a few days locum.
Now they issue PFT's from a few days to a more than a year!
I have heard of someone getting a 1 month PFT and know someone with a 2 yr PFT.

Has anyone been to the Home Office after the 19th of July?
Please write down about your interview. It would be very helpful.
Thank you

UK has become like a fish market of over seas doctors and so called PLABERS, try to look for other countries or it would be better to serve our own country and our own country peoples.

Doctors with more than a years experience in the NHS are finding it difficult to extend their PFT's as they are unable to get appropriate deanery letters.

Most are switching over to HSMP...

hi
The London Deanary and almost other deanaries are not giving PFT visa recommendation on the following 3 cases:
1. Locum < 3 months
2. Honorary SHO
3. Adhoc locum
Well it also depends on the Dean..Heard about some Deanaries in midlands are giving it.
Also if someone has a locum <3 months then they should influenece the staffing to write a letter for at least 3 monthsthen the dean will give it..but folks not in London Deanary where there s no hope for that also.
