1.Adenomatous Goitre
2.Papillary carcinoma
3.follicular carcinoma
4.follicular adenoma

lots of controversies surrounding this questions.at places the answer is 1 and at others its 4.

well but then as per Bailey goitre is defined as a generalized swelling....where as in the question it specifically speaks of a solitary nodule.

Adenomatous goiter is usually multinodular but adenomatous nodule as single swelling is the commonest cause of solitary thyroid nodule. Follicular adenoma comes second.
