Quick Scroll FAQ: Work permit or PFT? 08.09.05 (2 years ago) #1

I have been on work permit since the past 2 yrs (at a medical rep job) and have now been offered an F1 post. I am confused whether to take up the post or not cos I wud love to finally be able to work as a doc but i will loose my work permit and will end up on PFT which is quite a distressing kind of visa.
I do not intend to stay in this country forever, and am thinking tht if i manage to stay on work permit for another 2 yrs then i will be eligible for indefinite leave to remain and then after 2 yrs perhaps i can start working in foundation program (if i am lucky to find an F1 job like this again!!) it is quite risky, off course i will be delaying my career by another 2 yrs if i dont take up the F1 post right now. but maybe i can utilize these 2 yrs in sitting for MRCP and maybe do a postgrad degree course here?

What do u think is wise step? I dont want to regret after 2 yrs!!!
