DNB Neurosurgery (Direct 6 years)
Is there any DNB Neurosurgery (6 years) resident here? Can you please share your experience in your centre regarding 1. Hands on (trauma, cold cases, spine cases, neurocritical care etc), 2. Academics, 3. Stipend ???
PGI Surgery or drop a year ?
You should try to get a seat in Satya Sai Hospital, Bangalore or in Manipal Hospital, HAL road, bangalore
Very high patient in flow in both, but better cutting exposure at satya sai because it is a charitable institute.
Manipal has more trauma cases compared to satya sai
Satya sai has high in flow of cold cases and dedicated neurosurgery icu with dm/dnb neurosurgery anesthesiology residents.
You will end up doing more work like an intern if you are in a private hospital like manipal
In satya sai there is a hierarchy or chain of command to follow.
First year of general surgery training is better at satya sai institute.
Apart from above mentioned information, neurosurgery is otherwise a challenging, tiresome and demanding.
But with the right mindset and attitude, it is a wonderful field
Thanks a lot drmojorishin. It was very helpful...
