Your choices are all TCA which will enhance amine levels and mostly don’t affect dopamine uptake

Selegilline MAOi also enhances amin levels

NMS is due to antidopaminergic effects of neuroleptics that is why bromocriptine is the DOC………..
amoxapine is unique in having antidepresant and neuroleptic properties.read latest tripathi...........blocks D2 receptors hence the choice

Quick Scroll Sumitriptan ??? 06.03.06 (2 years ago) #8

One additional point regarding Migraine
It is given in the form of NASAL spray, but it acts best only to abort the onset of acute attack of migraine, ie at aura phase of classical miraine once the attack is sets in , the sumitriptan is of no use . hence the tt of choice of acute attacks of migraine is ergotamine + NSAIDS.
It is very controversial issues , but all MCQs guides gives answer as Sumit...
but the standard text books says somthing else.

icon_question.gif icon_question.gif Bruno Sir what is your opinion ?????.
