in senile vaginitis thereis high chance of concommitant cervical or endometrial carcinoma so first we have to rule out this. so cytology and colposcopy after taht estrogen can be given.

i was going through a indian journal of OBGY

yesterday.. in that a case of senile vaginitis was

given.patient had complain of retention of urine

and difficulty during mictuirition....since 2 m

when the concerened doc catheterized (with great

difficulty in localizing the urethral opening) few

drops of urine passed but then it stopped..


she was taken into OT... was examined and the

fused labia majora and minora were separated and

the traced toward the catheter which they had

inserted almost blindly.........

they found that it was in vagina ,,,,,,,, icon_eek.gif

she was given estrogen treatment(L/A)

got perfectly alrite in 4 weeks...

felt like sharing this... so i just wrote it in short...
