right.

and this 50th percentile is the same as 80% of the median of WHO ref standard .
or 2 SD below the median.

this all i could gather form parks.
but this leaves me with a doubt -
road to health as they put-should lie b/n the two curves or above the higher curve ?
someone pls help me getting this concept right

sadak ke do kinare hote hain.. icon_smile.gif

hence two curves needed....

so the space between two curves make the ROAD TO HEALTH..

WHO charts have two curves .

Indian charts have four.

ICDS charts have 3.

I thought so aditi that it should be b/n the two curves.
But why then -when we go by Indian chart-- b/n 80 and 70 is mild malnutrition?
and as i quoted -50th percentile means two SD below median-doesnt that imply values below that wd be out of normal range ??

prob i am missing some imp point that wd make things clear!

the chart in which we have road to health concept has two curves only........

there r many charts which has different no of curves....

but the road of health comprises of area between 50th percentile(of boys) and 3rd percentile.....(of girls)

this one is by WHO...

in this basic idea is to keep weight above 3 percentile nad its trend is also seen with respect to time....
