the answer is a.

see satoskar pharmac 16th edition page 933 mentions that the main complication of the therapy of hmg after hcg injection is "hyperstimulation syndrome".
the ovaries become very large and friable due to maturation of many follicle. the symptoms are abdominal pain and nausea. If friable ovary ruptures into abdomen.
the patient may develp ascitis and shock.

the management of this is conservative.
prevention implies
a) keeping the dose of hmg low
b) not injection hcg if the plasma estradiol level exceeds 2000 pg/ml.
