A pt had 2 mths POP cast for tibial fracture of left leg. now
he needs mobilisation with a single crutch. you will use this crutch on which side :

1) left fracture
2) right fracture
3) any side
4) both side

Tell me anjali what is the main purpose of using crutch here.
Is it to decrease weight bearing on the affected foot
or Is it to slowly increase weight bearing on the affected leg, as fracture must have already united since it had occured 2 mths back and now we have to regain the strength of that leg????
