see what i b sing embryology page 74 has to say maternal blood begins to circulate throught the lacuna by 11th day.primary villoys by 13th day and secondary and tertiary villi by 16th day.

and page60 mentions that after formation of tertiary villous, the blood vessels of villus establish connections with the circulatory system of the embryo.fetal blood now circulates through the villi, while maternal blood through intervillos space.

by above statements we can take inference that placental circulation is established(not begin) after formation of tertiary villous. taht is 16th day.

so best answre of above question would be
a) 18-21 days.

if it has been asked that when the circulation begin. we have to answer the time where lacunar spaced have filled then the answer sould have been 9-11 days.
