acute humoreal graft rejection is also known as rejection vasculitis.
mediated primarily by anti donor anti bodies and hence it is manifested mainly by damage to the blood vessels. this may take the form of necrotizing vasculitis with endothelial necrosis, neutrophilic infilteration, depostion of igs,complements, fibrin and thrombosis. such lesions are associated with extensive necrosis of the renal parenchyma.

In many cases the vasculiti is less acute and is charectrised by marked thickening of intima with proliferation of fibroblasts,myocyes and foamy macrophages.
