Presenting symptom of pars planitis is usually floaters, occasionally impairment of central vision d/t macular oedema.

SLE: AC quiet or slight flare, a few cells & several small KPs. Posterior synechiae are absent.

Vitreous:
In early cases cells are seen in anterior vitreous. Later they assume a sheet-like configuration & small gelatinous exudates (
'snowballs' or 'cotton-balls' ) appear.
Posterior vitreous detachment is common..

Pars plana & periphreral retinia:
A mild peripheral vasculitis with sheathing of the terminal venules is common.
The hallmark is the presence of a grey-white plaque involving the inferior pars plana. The plaque which is referred to as 'snowbanking' can be seen only with I/O & scleral indentation.
In advanced cases, the plaque extends nasally & towards the temporal periphery as well as posteriorly to cover the peripheral retina..
