1. cause litle pain
2. be associated with rapid cervical dilatation
3. occur in active phase of labor
4. respond to sedation...

''in hypertonic uterus there is contraction of whole uterus wthout any diff of upper & lower segment & there is no dilation of Cx, responsible for retention of foetus.it's also k/a uterine tetany..

it's ass wth sev & prolong pain, no fhs, dehydrated mother.

& mind it ...'coz most of cases r d/t oxytocin overuse, it has no r/w active stage,rt

ANS HERE IS 4th, is mx is sedation ,when uterus is relax, further delivery or destructive operation is done..
