correct salman!

well,as far as i know,

non immune hydrops fetalis is assoc with large placenta, icon_eek.gif
mechanisms being:

1)villous edema
2)in order to compensate for hypoxia placenta grows big to cover a large surface area, and also invading the myometrium in the process,so dat placenta accreta is more commonly seen in this condition. 8)

so wats the answer to the question?
none of the above???

RxPG,bruno please leave ur final word on this!most of the mcq text has repeatedly said dat large placenta is not seen in NIHF. icon_surprised.gif

Hydrops fetalis is characterized by generalized edema

Peripheral edema may be significant
Ascites, pleural and pericardial effusions frequently noted
Uneven distribution of excess fluid common
features noted in utero: polyhydramnios, thickened placenta (>6cm

guess that leaves cardiomegaly....................
