i think its b.

kdt says that PB duration is for 6 mnths--but in many cases t/t has to be extended upto 12 mnths.

Aditi is right.... we stop treatment at the end of the schedule, whether PB(6 doses) or MB(12 doses) under the WHO guidelines now adopted under NLEP by the govt.


clinicians may have different opinions on this still.... but that doesnt count towards a right answer! I have replied to this question in the AIPG forum for 2004 (I think).

hey wondergal..
this question has been discussed many time in this forum and luk up at mickey 's post..
At many other thread wid same question we have the enough data to support the answer as a ie to stop the treatment...
i think i ll have to search for that..
only problem there was that manu had raised the point of multibacillary which has been explained here by dr manish..

200%sure the answer is a. stick to wat WHO advocates and it advocates stopping the treatment after 6 months in PB CASES .dont get confused with wat indian leprologists say as they advice 6 months treatment.
