DIEULAFOY"S DISEASE
itz caused by gastric A-V malformation,,due 2 this profuse upper GI bleed occur, which is very difficult 2 treat as itz covered by normal mucosa sodifficult 2 identify.

if identified by upper GIendoscopy then SCLEROTHERAPY
is the Rx.

Dieulafoy's erosion

Description:
Simple mucosal erosion or ulcer complicating pneumonia and causing upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. A single bleeding point consists of a bare artery located in the folds of the upper third of the stomach. Possibly caused by overproduction of adrenal steroid hormones.

It was first described by M. T. Gallard in 1884. Dieulafoy described three of his own patients as well as four referred cases in 1898.
