Incidence of appendicitis gradually rises from birth, peaks in the late teen years, and gradually declines in the geriatric years.

Mortality rate rises above 20% in patients older than 70 years.

In 5% cases, appendix is extraperitoneal, situated behind the cecum.

The most common causes of luminal obstruction are fecaliths and lymphoid follicle hyperplasia, and so 75-80% is too high for fecoliths.

(e) choice I believe is true, especially in subhepatic cases.

yes doctor 70% is retrocecal but only 5% of them are extraperitoneal! And tenderness is not absolutely essential for diagnosis. In cases where appendix is deep (e.g. subhepatic), and deep palpation does not put pressure on the inflamed organ there is no tenderness. Still c is incorrect option!
