Wid regard to anesthesia:

1. IV Ketamine decreases myocardial contractility.
2. Cardiac depression caused by local anaesthetics should be treated with IV atropine
3. Surgery wid General anesthesia shd be cancelled in the pt. has allergic or vasomotor rhinitis.
4. All IV anesthetics are lipid soluble
5. IM analgesia does not satisfactorily control pain

4. Two major divisions of barbiturates: oxybarbiturates & thiobarbiturates.

Through keto-enol tautomerization, the "O" or "S" becomes a reactive species in the enol form that allows for the formation of water soluble barbiturate salts in alkaline solutions.

This solubility permits the IV use of barbiturates.
