I applied 3 years back, I found add in Dainik tribune that time. You will have to buythe form from Haryana Public Service Commission Board's Office in sector 17 near bus stand in Chandigarh.

HOW TO PREPARE THE INTERVIEW FOR MEDICAL OFFICER IN H.C.M.S.(Haryana )

I am working as a Medical Officer in Haryana Civil Medical Services (HCMS). Just today i saw the advertisement for 150 vacancies of M.O.'s in HCMS. I couldn't resist to help the members of this site to know more about it and how to prepare for the interview. Eligibility criteria : M.B.B.S. or equivivalent degree from M.C.I. Recognized University and The candidate must be citizen of India (any state)
Pay scale : 8000 + 1600 (NPA) + D.A. + all the allowances (first salary will be about 18190 Rs)

First of all fatch a copy of the newspaper in which advertisement of vacancies has been released. You may need some information from that paper. Get the form from HPSC Office CHANDIGARH personaly or get it via post. Fill the form and post it to the given address. You will get interview letter about a month back and interview will be in the same building from where you will get the form, Haryana Public Service Commission Board's Office. Its better if you go one day earlier. You can stay at any hotel and Kissan bhawan or Haryana bhawan are also good option specially for boys and they are economical also (250/night for single room compared to a hotel with 1500/night for single room)
In General category candidates are about 5-6 times the vacancies and the number will increase each year.
There will be 4-5 people in each board and there will be 4 such boards. Interview starts from the Introduction.You will be asked "What are you doing at present?" This can change the direction of your interview.Otherwise simple questions from important and practical topics are asked like ---
Malaria, JE, Dengue,Cholera, Water purification, Well bleaching, Orthotulidine test, Amoebiasis, Giardiasis, Helminthiasis,Food poisioning, National Immunization Programmes specially Polio,Hepatitis B,Hib, DOTS, Sex Ratio, Deviroopak yojna and Laadli (In Haryana only), Contraception methods; Tubectomy, Vasectomy, OCP's and side effects of OCP's, Medical Emergencies, Gynae more from Girls, URI, Diarrhoea in children, ..........

I suggest you read following books
PARK's PSM Book (75% of interview questions are from PSM ),
Gynae & Obst.--Dutta (More important for girls except some basics and contraception),
Pediatrics -- Ghai ,
Medical Emergencies -- Gupta
and not the whole books just important topics, If you have read different books it's wise to stick to them.
Most important thing is "BE CONFIDENT & WELL PREPARED"

I had to select the topic as Haryana PG as Job topic is not present. But I want to tell you that 50% seats of Haryana PG are reserved for HCMS Doctor's.So this job will also get a PG degree for you.

The Tribune and Dainik Bhaskar date I forgot, actually I have come in city for training and I am replying from cyber cafe, all my luggage etc is in my CHC.Date should be 5th or 6th Nov. 2005.

get the form from Haryana public commission office at panchkula last date to buy form is 21 nov so hurry n last date of form being recieved at office 31 nov or if from remote area then 9 dec
